6 month check up at 7 months!

Mason just had his 6 month check up. We were running behind due to the move, etc. He weighs in at 21 lbs which puts him in the 90th percent of weight for his age. His height is 28 in and that is the 75th percentile. The doctor says he is a good looking healthy baby boy! I'm always happy to hear that. They gave him 4 different shots and Mas was not a happy camper... but he got over it pretty fast.

He passed a few milestones these last few weeks. He is now able to sit up on his own and semi crawl. He does a good army crawl and also does the downward dog position (for those that know yoga)- aka- the stink bug.

Pumpkin Farm #2

Last Saturday we were invited to go to the pumpkin patch in Citrus Heights with some friends, Ellie, Tommy and Jason. Unfortunately Mike had a long week at work and needed some rest so he couldn't go. He missed out, it was a lot of fun!!

This was our second time to the farm but a totally different experience. We fed the goats and rode the train. Mason met a few new buddies and I'm glad that I did too. It was a nice hot day and I think Mas got his first little tan.

Four cute lil boys! It's amazing they all stayed put for this picture! Clockwise from the top is Jason, Lev, Mason and Owen. (Mas and Owen are only 4 days apart!! They look like they could be twins.)

The Pumpkin Farm #1 A Family Affair

Saturday October 18th we met up with the Cacioppo's which is Mike's sister Kim, her husband Rob, their little girl Lilian and Rob's mom for a trip to the Pumpkin Farm in Citrus Heights.

Mason was in awe at all the things to see. A train that went around the farm, a haunted barn and corn maze (which we skipped for obvious reasons). They had a petting zoo with goats, a llama, baby pigs that fought over the rotten pumpkins, ponies and all kinds of chickens and birds. Lilian wasn't too into the animals so we headed over to the pumpkins. That's what we really came here for anyways... I was amazed at how quickly they picked out there pumpkins!! We took a few pictures and then we were off to their house for Mountain Mikes Pizza. Yum! I like how these Cacioppo's do things... short and sweet!

Apple Hill

I forgot how much I love fall!! The leaves are changing and everywhere we go we see multi colored trees with vivid reds, oranges, yellows and greens. From what I hear this fall has been unusually warm and it will soon be getting very cold. We just spent a winter in Utah so I'm wondering what they mean by cold...

The beginning of the month we had a cold spell but that didn't stop us from enjoying the outdoors. We drove 30 mins to a place called Apple Hill. I believe it is in Placerville or close to it. It's a little piece of heaven! We went to High Hill Ranch, this ranch was one of many along a winding country road. All these ranches offer different stuff to attract people. The one we went to had all kinds of vendors, a pumpkin patch, orchards and gardens, a fudge shop, a produce shop, lots of fresh home made pies to buy, hay rides, and a fishing pond.

We got some apple butter, ate a apple cider shake, walked around a little, took minimal pictures (which I always regret) then took the scenic drive home. It was a lot of fun even though it was SO crowded.
